WAREHOUSE INTELLIGENCE

COMMON SENSE

The typical modern 5000 to 10,000 m2 warehouse has well over 50% of its floor area, visited for less than 10% of the day. Turret trucks and folks deliver and retrieve pallets generally in less than 3 minutes and return within 30 minutes; that’s activity for 10% of the functional day. That’s 2 visits per hour and 6 minutes of every hour

.

If we turn the lamps off during the 54 minutes of no activity, we will save 90% of the power consumed in that space.

If we average that across the total space we are saving 45% of the total energy used.

And if we replace the old 400w mercury vapour lamps with 200w energy savers, we reduce power consumption by 50%.

So turn off lamps when there is no one around and that pushes total consumption reduction to about 90%.

All of the above benefits are able to be achieved on a per-light fixture basis through the use of the unique VABOSS Intelligent Lighting Controller.

By integrating the controller into the advanced lighting fixture, all energy benefits can be achieved without needing to rewire control cabling and sensors, installing a central control system or developing site-specific lighting control programs.

Ask your manager to contact VABOSS. They’ll put you in touch with a distributor who can do an audit and model savings for you. They’ll provide a proposal and contract installation.

BENCHMARK SAVINGS

Energy consultant and lighting engineer; GenesisNow, has modelled a typical warehouse for Kincrome in Scoresby, Victoria, recommending VABOSS control on LED lamps running on Meanwell 0~10v drivers.

This model features an importing company’s 4800 m2 warehouse, located in a high density industrial precinct close to an arterial road network. The engineers modelled 75% racking / 25% open space.
